For Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts:

The annual Kids in the Kitchen event will once again be held at Hult Health Center. Join us for a fun day of healthy learning!

Who: Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts

When: Saturday, February 9th 2013 from 9am to noon

Where: Hult Center for Health Education (5215 N. Knoxville Ave, Peoria)

Why: The 2013 event will provide a variety of activities designed to teach participants about healthy lifestyle habits, nutrition, and exercise. Participants will earn a badge and take home valuable life skills!

Cost: $10 per participant (please contact us if you would like to participate but cost is an issue), includes badge and snack

NEW KIDS IN THE KITCHEN PARTNERSHIP

Kids in the Kitchen has partnered with the Quest Charter Academy to offer after school sessions about making healthy lifestyle choices. The first session was held December 5th, and focused on healthy snacking. About 20 middle school students participated in a discussion about healthy snacking and made two fun snacks to try - fruit smoothies and guacamole. A follow up session is planned for the Spring and will focus on farming and local produce.
