Message from the President
Promoting voluntarism; developing the potential of women; improving communities – the Junior League of Peoria has been collaborating, problem-solving and driving change in the Peoria area for 80 years. In the summer of 2015, we opened the Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum, cementing Glen Oak Park as the premier day-long destination for families and for play. Always moving forward, the League currently is collaborating with Peoria Public Schools in the Adopt-a-School program, which received a League grant to create a structure in which the entire community can participate in the reinvention of our school system as a source of pride for the Peoria-area community. It’s good for the economy, and it’s good for the future.
So, what is a Junior League Member? In a word, a leader. Someone who plans, empowers and executes. Someone who looks not at short-term circumstances, but seeks out long-term systemic changes for our community’s toughest problems.
Looking for a group of women who build better communities? You’ve come to the right place. Welcome to the Junior League of Peoria.
