Message from the President
Promoting voluntarism; developing the potential of women; improving communities — the Junior League of Peoria has been collaborating, problem-solving, and driving change in the Peoria area for 80 years. Last summer we opened the Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum, cementing Glen Oak Park as the premier day-long destination for families and for play. Always moving forward, the League currently is collaborating with Peoria Public Schools in the Adopt-a-School program, which received a League grant to create a structure in which the entire community can participate in the reinvention of our school system as a source of pride for the Peoria-area community. It’s good for kids, it’s good for the economy, and it’s good for the future.
So what is a Junior League Member? In a word, a leader. Someone who plans, empowers, and executes. Someone who looks not just at short-term circumstances, but seeks out long-term, systemic changes for our community’s toughest problems.
Looking for a group of women who build better communities? You’ve come to the right place. Welcome to the Junior League of Peoria.
