Pucks and The Playhouse
PEORIA RIVERMEN AND THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF PEORIA TEAM UP FOR "PUCKS AND THE PLAYHOUSE"
The Peoria Rivermen announced a newly-formed partnership between the team and one of Peoria’s longest-standing community-minded organizations, the Junior League of Peoria. The two will team up for "Pucks and The PlayHouse", a joint event to raise money and awareness for the Peoria PlayHouse on Sunday, March 9 as the Rivermen host the Chicago Wolves at 3 pm.
The Peoria PlayHouse is the area’s first children’s interactive museum, planned for the Glen Oak Pavilion. The net proceeds of tickets sold, through the Junior League of Peoria, for Pucks and The PlayHouse will benefit the PlayHouse capital campaign fund.
"The Junior League has always been an organization that recognizes the needs of the community, and rolls up their sleeves to get the ball rolling," said Anne Griffith, co-owner of the Rivermen and a Junior League sustaining member. "We are thrilled to have an event where some of the communities’ finest women and some of its finest young men, our players, can demonstrate the uniqueness of a children’s museum and why it’s so imperative for the growth of our community."
"The Junior League has obviously been an integral part of improving the quality of life for this community," said Rivermen head coach Dave Baseggio. "As many of our players are parents themselves, they recognize the need for such a museum and welcome the opportunity to give back to a city that has been so good to us."
Pucks and The PlayHouse took place on PJ Star/Comcast Family Fun on the Run Day Sunday, March 9. The event was a success! To learn more about The Peoria PlayHouse visit
